Nonylphenol ethoxylated with 15 moles of ethylene oxide (NPE-15) is a highly effective non-ionic surfactant, valued for its superior wetting, emulsifying, and detergent properties.

With a longer ethylene oxide chain than NPE-10, NPE-15 exhibits characteristics that make it suitable for applications requiring higher water solubility and robust performance in surface cleaning and industrial processes.

Ethoxylated nonylphenol (NPE) is a series of non-ionic surfactants synthesized through the ethoxylation of nonylphenol. The “15 moles” designation indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added to the molecule, which directly influences its hydrophilic properties.

NPE-15, with its higher ethylene oxide content, is more hydrophilic than lower-ethoxylation variants, resulting in excellent water solubility and a higher cloud point. It is a clear to slightly hazy liquid that is stable across a wide pH range and effective in hard water.
